Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry - The Tang Group
Our group was founded in 1999 and the research in our laboratory has been focusing on organometallic chemistry. Aiming to resolve the key problems, such as the selectivity control and the catalytic efficiency, in homogeneous catalysis, we designed organometallic catalyst based on a sidearm strategy by which a coordinating functional group, the sidearm, was assembled close to the active site of catalyst. This allows for the control of catalytic behaviors and therefore enable new methods and organic reactions to be developed.
The major projects of our group: 1. Asymmetric Catalysis; 2. Design, Synthesis and Application of Olefin Polymerization Catalyst; 3.Chemistry of Ylides; 4. Total Synthesis of Natural Product.
